2 Chron 1:1 Solomon son of David established himself firmly over his kingdom,
for
the LORD his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.
I wonder how many times a day, how many times a week,
we take the credit for
something only God has done for us? For example, "Yesterday I wasn't feeling
too well,
but I took lots of extra vitamins and today I feel great." Or, "I'm
so glad I received that promotion, I've been
working hard to get that for over a
year."
It's great that we take care of ourselves, and apply Biblical principles
of hard
work and stewardship, but ultimately we must realize that our blessings come
from the Lord. Good things
happen to us because the Giver of all good gifts is
WITH US!
When we trust in the Lord for our blessings,
we will find He does things
exceedingly abundantly beyond all we could ask or think! God not only
established
Solomon and strengthened him, he made him EXCEEDINGLY great. It's
wonderful to go for "great" in your life, but if
you want "exceedingly great" -
go for God and let Him be the one to establish you.
Today remember that God
Himself is with you, and give Him thanks for all He is
doing in your life.
